Kuwaiti woman arrested for beating housemaid to death

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 1: A Kuwaiti woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, and who allegedly beat her housemaid to death has been arrested by the police, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to the daily the suspect called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior when she saw the maid hit the floor.
Without going into details the daily added when the paramedics rushed to the spot, they failed to revive the maid. She was sprawled on the floor — dead.
The remains of the maid have been referred to Forensics. Police interrogations are continuing.

Salon workers loot all: A 30-year-old Kuwaiti man filed a breach of trust case against four Asian women who worked at a beauty salon in Jahra governorate, reports Alam-Alyawm daily.
The Kuwaiti said the women stole KD 800, cosmetics and hair driers from the salon and escaped. He said he noticed the disappearance of the cosmetics when he entered the salon and asked the cleaning woman who said the employees fled with money and cosmetics.
Police are looking for the suspects.

Sheep stolen, sold: Police arrested an Asian caretaker of a livestock pen in Kabad area for stealing six sheep and selling them, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Asian’s Kuwaiti sponsor filed a complaint, saying the caretaker earlier surprised him by claiming that three sheep got stolen from the pen. A few days later, the caretaker claimed that four more sheep got stolen. The Kuwaiti felt something amiss and decided to check the caretaker’s room where he found a money remittance slip showing that he sent KD 250 to his family back home.
During interrogation, the Asian admitted to stealing the sheep in cooperation with his brother who worked as driver for the same sponsor.
Police are now looking for the caretaker’s brother.

Iron stolen from firm: Iron worth nearly KD 1,500 was stolen from a major iron company in Sabhan area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Sources say the guard of the company called the mandoub, (company representative), who in turn called police and reported the theft. Criminal Evidences Department officials picked up fingerprints from the scene of crime, said sources, adding police are conducting investigations.

Drugs seized: An Egyptian truck driver was arrested for smuggling half kilo hashish and 1,000 narcotic pills into the country from Iraq, reports Al-Anba daily.
Customs men at the border had found the drugs during inspection. The driver, however, denies involvement and says smugglers might have hid the drugs in his truck while he was taking rest.

Wife divorced in tiff: An Arab expatriate divorced his wife inside Farwaniya Police Station for denying that she stole KD 250 from his bank account, reports Al-Anba daily.
The expatriate had earlier filed a complaint, accusing his wife of stealing the sum on the basis that she knew the password of his bank card. He also mentioned that she left their house and went to her father’s house.

Ammo, drugs found: Securitymen affiliated to the Northern Roads Security Division arrested a Kuwaiti man in possession of nine guns, 14 bullets and 12 narcotic pills, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Kuwaiti was referred to the General Department for Criminal Investigations for possessing unlicensed guns and ammunition. Later, he will be referred to the Directorate-General for Drug Control (DGDC) for possessing drugs.

Girl molested:
A Kuwaiti man has been arrested for harassing and molesting a compatriot girl in a commercial complex in Salmiya area, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The suspect, who is into body building, allegedly kicked and beat up a security guard who had come to help the Kuwaiti girl. Both the guard and the bodybuilder were referred to police station.
