CSC tentatively OKs pay hikes for nurses, bedoun working in MoH Info sought on teachers to pave way for payment of new salary scales

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 1: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has tentatively agreed to increase the monthly salary of resident nurses and bedoun working for the Ministry of Health, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added the CSC has asked the Ministry of Health to specify the amount suggested for this category of employees according to their qualifications. Meanwhile, the CSC has clarified the raise for bedoun nurses will be based on the nature of their work to set an example for others.
However, it has also been reported the Ministry of Health is working in coordination with the Kuwait Nursing Association to get the suggested raise approved.
In a related development, Ministry of Education has assigned teams from its administrative affairs sector to review information on almost 40,000 teachers to pave the way for the payment of new salary scales approved by Cabinet, reports Al-Shahid daily.
The daily quoting a source from the education sector said the Civil Service Commission has already been asked to approve the paying of increments according to ranking.
He noted the teams are likely to finalize their task in the course of the month, in order that payment will be activated in February.
