Indian dies in fall from building ‘Pills’ found with youth
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: A 37-year old Indian man reportedly fell to his death in Salmiya area Saturday morning.
According to the Emergency Department, operatives received a distress call reporting a man had fallen from a building in the area, and so paramedics rushed to the scene. However, there was noting they could do to save the victim, as he had already succumbed to his injuries when rescue arrived. A case was registered for investigation.
Drugs seized: A young man was arrested in Al-Sulaibiya after narcotic pills had been found in his possession, and police discovered he was wanted for several thefts.
Sources said the officers spotted the man in the area and stopped him for checking. However, he tried then to flee the scene and the officers managed to arrest him. They went ahead and conducted a search inside his car and found illicit drugs. He was taken to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Arab expat mugged: An Egyptian expatriate was attacked by a thief who managed to make him pull over while driving in Al-Fahaheel area, and stole KD 130 by force.
The victim told police officers that a man stopped him while he was driving, entered his car, and then threatened him at knife point to steal KD 130 plus a mobile phone. A case was registered for investigation to trail the suspect.
Fire in shop: Fire erupted at a mechanic shop that specializes in mending punctures on vehicle tires at Salmiya, without registering any casualties. However, material losses were inevitable.
Sources said the Operations Room was notified about the accident and firefighters accompanied paramedics to the scene. The officers managed to contain the fire before it could extend to neighboring stores.
5 held drunk: Police officers in Salmiya arrested five drunken youths Thursday evening at a security checkpoint in the area. They were referred to concerned authority for necessary action.
