Sponsor mistreating employees - Employee on Commercial Visit visa
My daughter got a visit visa for my youngest son 3 months ago. He found a job and his sponsor sent him to Dubai and he got back on a commercial visa. Now he has been working with them since October but his sponsor has not got his residence. For how long is a commercial visa? And his employer makes him work 15 to 18 hrs a day on a KD110 salary a month. He has no days off and if he is late they cut two days from the salary. What can we do?

Answer: If he has not still signed a contract with the sponsor, it is better he shouldn’t. But there is not much he can do as he doesn’t have a residence. The validity of the commercial visit visa is also for a max of three months unless the process for the residence has started.
It is clear that the sponsor is mistreating his employees. It is better to leave him now rather than face problems later.
