Director-General of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) Dr Jassem Al-Bader has issued a decision to ban shrimp fishing from January until September 2012 inside Kuwait’s territorial waters, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The decision says PAAAFR bans the import of fresh or frozen shrimps without prior permission. The same decision also bans Kuwaiti fishing trawlers from fishing in international waters.
The authority will coordinate with the concerned officials from the Coast Guard, and the Customs and Excise departments to monitor the implementation of the decision.
