Fixed-time contract

I am working with a company in Kuwait and have finished 4 years with them. The company hired me directly from my country in 2007 on a 2-year contract, which is automatically renewable. I have already completed my 2 contracts and am currently on my 3rd. I have got a good opportunity from another company but my current employer is not accepting the resignation because my contract is a fixed-time one. So in this case what is the next step?

Answer:
Well, there is nothing you can do if it is indeed a fixed-time contract. If you resign, you could be asked to pay for the remainder of your contract. But you should still take the contract to the Labour Dept in your area to check if it is a fixed-time or not.
