Firemen attacked for cleaning road meant to hold car races Gangs of youths furious for spoiling ‘fun’
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: More than 60 youths are said to have attacked firemen with whatever they could lay their hands on and damaged their vehicles when the latter went to clean a road at an unidentified location which was full of diesel, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily added police later discovered the diesel was poured on the road by the youths to hold illegal races.
Police are looking for the suspects.
Woman held drunk: The Hawalli police have taken into custody a young Kuwaiti woman for driving under the influence of alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
Without going into details the daily said the ‘drunkard’ was arrested on suspicion after police saw her driving recklessly.
She has been handed over to the authorities.
Meanwhile, the Taima police in Jahra have arrested two unidentified Asians for drinking alcohol, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The daily added the men were walking along a road when the police arrested them and detained them at the area police station.
Drug pills seized: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested two Kuwaitis for possessing drugs. They were taken into custody from a market in Al-Qurain, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The suspects were caught by police on routine duty. Police have allegedly seized from the men 20 drug pills.
They have been handed over to the General Department for Drug Control.
Can’t see her parents: An unidentified Egyptian woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her Syrian husband of beating her, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
In her complaint the woman said the husband got angry when she told him she wanted to visit her family in Egypt.
She has submitted a medical report issued by the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital showing bruises on her body.
The husband has been summoned for interrogation.
Worker abused: An unidentified female employee working for a government service center in Nugra has filed a complaint with the area police accusing an unidentified female compatriot of verbally abusing her while on duty, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In her complaint the employee said the compatriot approached her and requested to process a transaction without proper documents.
Bike stolen under threat: Police are looking for thieves who threatened an employee of a private company and stole a motorbike, reports Al-Shahid daily.
An Indian worker at the aforementioned company filed a complaint with policemen in Salhiya accusing two men of stealing a motorbike belonging to the company after they had threatened to hit him with steel. A case was registered for investigation.
Valuables stolen: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the Hawalli police accusing unidentified persons of breaking into her car and stealing valuables, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
She added the car was parked in front of her home when the incident happened. She told police she discovered the theft when she was getting into her car to go to work.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thief.
Wanted Indian held: Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have arrested an unidentified Indian man who had been sentenced in absentia to three years imprisonment in connection with four civil cases including a dud cheque case, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The man has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Punched in traffic brawl: A military man has filed a complaint with the police accusing a citizen of punching him in the face following a collision with his vehicle, reports Al-Dar daily.
In his complaint to the police the victim said following the collision the man got out of his car and blamed him for causing the accident.
Then he punched him in the face, got into his vehicle and drove off.
The victim has provided police details of the car and the man.
Company Safe stolen: A Kuwaiti man working as a manager in a private contracting company filed a complaint, saying the company’s Safe containing KD 1,103 has been stolen, reports Alam-Alyawm daily. Police are investigating the case.
Cars broken into: Four expatriates - two Syrians and two Egyptians - have filed complaints with the Farwaniya police accusing unidentified persons of breaking into their cars and stealing valuables, reports Al-Dar daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
