‘No swine flu cases found’ - Report, public urged
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: Director of Public Health Administration at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Dr Yousef Mondakar has denied claims that a number of swine flu cases were detected in Ahmadi Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily.
He said if the virus had spread, the administration would have been called for action and added that Ahmadi Hospital has a preventive health unit.
Dr Mondakar called on everyone to report the occurrence of any such case to the disease control department or public health office in their neighborhood or to him directly.
He mentioned that no bird flu case was registered in the country after it was declared free of the disease.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Dr Ibrahim Al-Abdulhadi has asked the Legal Affairs Department for a detailed response to complaints submitted by some physicians on discriminatory promotion policies, reports Al-Dar daily.
Sources say the staff at Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations strongly oppose the promotion policy and demand for a new one.
In a separate development, the Interior Ministry reportedly asked the Ministry of Communications to block 400 accounts on Twitter as data about their owners is not known. Several complaints were registered against the owners of these accounts as they allegedly use offensive language.
