19 held for eve-teasing in Hawally Sleuths nab Asian expat, seize 19.5 kg marijuana

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: Armed with search and arrest warrant from the Public Prosecution, anti-narcotics officers apprehended an Asian expatriate in Qurtoba for consuming and peddling in marijuana. This follows information the Directorate General for Drug Control received about activities of the suspect, through which a team of detectives was formed to arrest him.
Security sources said an undercover agent sealed a deal with the suspect to purchase an unspecified quantity of marijuana, and they agreed to meet at a location in Qurtoba to conclude their transaction. The suspect was arrested after delivering the contraband.
In the meantime, the suspect confessed to trading in drugs and went ahead to name his accomplice who was later arrested from his hideout. Securitymen retrieved additional 19.5 kg of the contraband from the second suspect who admitted smuggling marijuana from his native country to Kuwait. The suspects, with the items, have since been referred to the relevant authority.

19 eve-teasers held: Following several complaints by parents of female students studying at the Institute of Applied Education in Hawalli who reported that loiterers hassle their wards, security operatives from the area initiated a campaign and arrested 19 loiterers-two of them from an unidentified GCC state.
Sources said the culprits were compelled to sign a pledge to stay away from the premises after securitymen had shaved their hair in punishment. The campaign is likely to continue to keep loiterers away from the place.
