Staff involved in bogus Labour transactions, says probe panel
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: An investigation committee has discovered 50 fake transactions in Farwaniya Labor Department and sources say all of them were carried out in favor of companies owned by department employees or their relatives.
Informed sources in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor said the committee has prepared its report on the issue and will soon submit it to ministry undersecretary who in turn will refer it to the minister for taking necessary legal action in this regard.
Drugs kill woman: The General Department for Drugs Control headed by acting Brigadier Saleh Al-Enezi has notified the Ministry of Health that a 30-year-old Kuwaiti woman who was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Al-Sabah Hospital following an overdose of heroin has died, reports Al-Jaridah daily.
According to reports the woman was sent to the ministry center for rehabilitation and it is surprising she had access to the drugs.
The department has called on the Ministry of Health to form an investigation committee in cooperation with the department to find out how the drugs entered the center.
Initial investigations show the nursing staff at the hospital failed to monitor the victim and as a result she died of an overdose of heroin.
Man held with drugs: Police have arrested an unidentified citizen for possessing opium, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports a senior official in the Ministry of Interior received a tip-off that the suspect was trafficking in drugs.
Acting on this information the official formed a team of securitymen and put the suspect under surveillance.
Then armed with a search and arrest warrant the police arrested the man in front of his home in Dai’ya and seized from him five pieces of raw opium and referred him to the concerned authorities.
