DOHA, Dec 12, (KUNA): Kuwaitis Mohammad Kamal and Jassem Darweesh won Monday the gold medal in the bowling event of the 12th Pan Arab Games being held in Qatar. The two Kuwaiti bowlers managed to score 2,509 points, snatching the second gold medal for Kuwait in the games. Member of the Kuwaiti bowling federation Bader Al-Najdi told KUNA that the two bowlers did their best to put their country’s name on top of the competition, revealing that another Kuwaiti pair, which consisted of Khaled Al-Debiyan and Basel Al-Enizi, came in fourth. He hoped that Kuwaiti bowlers would continue such success in future competition.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Judoka Ghannam Al-Diakan won a silver medal in free weight competitions at the conclusion of the judo category in the Arab Games in Doha on Monday. Al-Daikan reached the final after three consecutive wins against Egyptian, Lebanese and Algerian judokas. But he lost the final to Tunisian Judoka Faisal Jaballah. With this silver, Kuwait’s medals’ tally increased to two gold, three silver and eight bronze to occupy the seventh place in the overall standing. Egypt is still leading the standing with 14 gold medals, 11 silver and five bronze. It was followed by host country, Qatar, with eight gold, five silver and nine bronze, while Tunisia was third with seven gold, three silver and six bronze.
