Maid texts death threat to sponsor after fleeing
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: A housemaid who had escaped from her sponsor’s residence in Hadiyyah reportedly sent a text message, threatening to kill the sponsor’s wife and children, reports Al-Rai daily.
The death threat came three days after the maid’s escape. The sponsor had by then registered an absconding case against her at Hadiyyah Police Station which was later referred to Ahmadi Police Station.
Police conducted intense investigations and managed to arrest the maid and her friend who had provided her shelter.
Mass arrest of illegals: Securitymen have arrested 97 people for violating residence, labor and other laws during an intense inspection campaign in Farwaniya area, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Farwaniya Area Commander Colonel Walid Shehab had led the 74-hour operation. The officers started in Khaitan before moving to Farwaniya where they arrested 72 Asians for violating labor law and 10 others for violating residence law. Also, 11 people wanted by law and four wanted by the Sentences Enforcement Department were arrested during the campaign.
