‘Porno’ woman held on Airport
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9: The Kuwait International Airport police briefly detained a Kuwaiti woman for possessing banned pornographic material, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the woman arrived from an unidentified Western country.
The daily added the woman was arrested on suspicion because she looked confused when she put her luggage through the X-ray machine at the airport.
During interrogation the woman claimed she brought the items for one of her girlfriends. When she was told such items are banned by law, she said she was not aware of the law.
The items were seized and the woman was let go.
In another incident, an Asian expatriate (above), was arrested by patrolmen in Jleeb Shuyoukh with an unspecified quantity of pornographic CDs in his possession. Sources said the suspect aroused suspicion of security operatives as he was spotted on foot carrying a bag, and he tried to escape. The officers are said to have chased and finally arrested him. He was referred to Public Prosecution after conducting a search inside the bag and recovering illicit items.
Man commits suicide: The remains of an Asian man who allegedly committed suicide inside a camp in Mutla’a have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Rai daily.
The victim allegedly hanged himself inside his sponsor’s tent.
According to a security source, the death was reported to the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior by the sponsor.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department are investigating the death.
Police looking for 3: Police are looking for three unidentified persons for committing many crimes, and kidnapping and beating a bedoun, burning his car and shooting at his home, reports Al-Anba daily.
In his complaint to the Sulaibiya police the bedoun said the suspects kidnapped him from an unidentified location because his son was involved in an argument with the suspects.
Seven expats arrested: The Hawalli police have arrested seven expatriates of various nationalities for violating residence laws, reports Al-Mustaqbal daily.
All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities to prepare their deportation from the country.
In other news the Farwaniya police also have arrested 10 expatriates for violating residence laws.
Kuwaiti files complaint: A 30-year-old Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the police accusing unidentified persons of breaking into his farms in Kabd and stealing a bunchy from one camp and an electricity generator from another, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
