Kuwaiti citizen acquitted in rape of teen girl Consensual sex: accused
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: The Criminal Court acquitted a Kuwaiti man of raping a teenaged girl.
When the accused appeared in court, he denied the charges, saying the girl called him when her parents went out of the house and they had consensual sex.
Attorney Faisal Al-Otaibi, who represented the Kuwaiti in court, demanded the acquittal of his client, pointing out the girl’s father knows she is in a relationship with the accused. He said the father forced his client to marry his daughter, demanding exorbitant dowry — KD 50,000 before the wedding and KD 100,000 after. He supported his argument with the Forensics report, which did not mention any indication of forced sex as claimed by the girl.
Expat not guilty: The Criminal Court acquitted an expatriate of acquiring narcotic pills for consumption.
According to the arresting officer, he found the defendant lying unconscious in his car with an injection in his right hand after being involved in a traffic accident. When the officer searched the car, he found heroin and drug paraphernalia.
However, Attorney Abdullah Al-Alanda, lawyer for the accused, said the arrest and search procedures taken by the officer were invalid because he did not obtain a warrant from the Public Prosecution, in addition to the fact that the defendant was not caught red-handed. He asserted this invalidates the pieces of evidence purportedly found in the expatriate’s car.
