One dead, two brothers critical as families fight over old feud ‘Enough is enough’ … police hunt pesterer

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: A public brawl, involving 30 men in Oyoun, Jahra resulted in the death of a 35-year-old GCC national, serious injuries to his two brothers — 32 and 19 years old, and another brother got minor wounds.
It has been reported the fight started after a heated argument between neighbors — Kuwaitis and GCC nationals — over a previous dispute. However, the argument turned into a fistfight with both members of the group using knives, sticks and other sharp objects to attack each other.
The Kuwaitis, including the 61-year-old father and his five sons whose ages range from 16 to 32 years old, were referred to Taima Police Station for questioning.
Meanwhile, several securitymen were deployed to Jahra Hospital and the houses of both families to prevent the eruption of another fight.

Police hunt pesterer: Police are looking for an unidentified person for harassing an unidentified Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the man kept calling the women even during night time in addition to sending her love notes which almost ruined her marriage. After the woman failed to identify the caller, she said ‘enough is enough’ and contacted the Directorate-General of Criminal Investigations and provided the suspect’s phone number.
However, when the police tried to call him, they discovered his phone was switched off. A search is on for the suspect through the use of GPS system.

Couple caught drunk: The Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentified man and his girlfriend for drinking alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the suspects were arrested at an unidentified location while on their way home after having fun inside a chalet in the area.
Without giving more details the daily said the suspects have been referred to the Directorate-General of Criminal Investigations.

139 illegals caught: During a crackdown on violators of law and vice in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, police are said to have arrested 139 people of various nationalities (men and women), including 80 on whom their employers had filed missing persons report, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The crackdown was ordered by the Director of the Farwaniya Directorate Major-General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali.
All those arrested have been referred to the Deportation Center.

37 groceries shut: During a crackdown on illegal business activity, personnel from the Kuwait Municipality, Farwaniya branch are said to have shut 37 unlicensed groceries, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily added the Municipality has also cut electric supply to these shops to prevent them from reopening.
The raid was conducted in cooperation with the Farwaniya Security Directorate and the Ministry of Electricity and Water.

Asian held with drugs: Police have arrested an unidentified 30-year-old Asian for possessing four grams of heroin and four bottles of locally-manufactured booze, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to reports the man was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh at a late hour. He has been handed over to the authorities.

Duo held with liquor: The Hawalli police have arrested two Kuwaitis, both believed to be in their 40s for possessing a bottle of booze and a quantity of hashish, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to reports the suspects were arrested while driving along a road at an unidentified location. They have been referred to the concerned authority.

B’deshi robbed: Police are looking for two unidentified persons for robbing a Bangladeshi man, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
In his complaint to the police the victim said the suspects attacked him while he was on his way home.
He added the suspects forced him to give all the money he had and when he refused they beat him and stole his wallet and cell phone.

Wanted man caught: The Hawalli police have arrested a 40-year-old Kuwaiti who was wanted by law in connection with a KD 5,000 financial fraud, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The daily added the man was arrested on suspicion while driving a road at an unidentified location. He has been handed over to the authorities.

Bakery robbed: Police are looking for unidentified persons who allegedly broke into a well-known pastry shop in Salmiya and stole KD 1,000, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added, the theft was discovered by the employees when they went to work in the morning. They added the front door was broken. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.

Thieves caught in act: Police have arrested two people - one Kuwaiti and another man whose nationality has not been disclosed - for attempting to break into a car, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said a police patrol saw the men standing suspiciously near a car near the Kuwait Towers and when police approached them they tried to get away from the car.
During interrogation the men are said to have admitted to breaking into cars and stealing valuables.
They also said they specialized in breaking into cars parked near touristic parks and the parking lots of commercial malls.
