2 Kuwaiti youths to probe for robbing Asians in police guise Kuwait embassy staffer’s killer sought
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: Director of the Criminal Investigation Department branch in Hawally Colonel Abdulrahman Al-Suhail referred two Kuwaiti youths to the Public Prosecution for impersonating securitymen to steal from Asians, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed a security team patrolling in Salwa noticed a vehicle with flashing lights driven by a young Kuwaiti. When the officers signaled the driver to pull over, he and his companion — also a Kuwaiti — tried to escape but they were arrested after a hot chase.
During interrogation, the youths admitted to impersonating police officers to steal from Asians. Further investigations revealed the suspects had previously been involved in six theft cases.
Sources added the investigators will summon the victims to file a case against the suspects.
Hunt for killer: Police in Ismailiya, Egypt, are looking for unidentified persons for murdering a 43-year-old employee of the Kuwait Embassy in Cairo, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the victim was shot dead in Ismailiya while he was on his way to the embassy. Reports say the man was surprised by unidentified masked men in a drive by car.
The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics in Egypt. Police investigations are underway to nab the culprits.
Najjar probe ends: The Disciplinary Board of the Ministry of Interior charged with investigating the issue of Assistant Director-General for General Department for Private Forces Col Shukri Al-Najjar has completed the investigations and recommended to delay the promotion of the officer and deduct his salary as punishment, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The sources disclosed the report will be submitted to the Minister of Interior, following assumption of his duties, so that appropriate action can be taken against the official. However, the sources say the recommendations of the Disciplinary Board are not binding on the minister.
Boy abducted, raped: Police are looking for an unidentified person for kidnapping and raping a 10-year-old Egyptian boy, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the victim’s mother has filed a complaint with the Maidan Hawalli Police Station.
In her complaint the woman said her son was playing in the building compound and that an unidentified person lured him to a neighboring building and raped him.
Theft at gunpoint: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti man for breaking into a pharmacy in Fahaheel and stealing KD 300, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to the daily the man was armed with a gun. He reportedly broke into the pharmacy and threatened to kill the pharmacist if he did not hand over the money.
After the suspect left, the pharmacist noted the car (a black Ford) plate number and informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
Based on the information provided by the victim, the police were able to arrest the man from his home. At the time of the arrest the man was under the influence of alcohol.
He has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Youth held with drugs: Securitymen have arrested a youth in possession of drugs in Riggae area, reports Al-Rai daily.
Patrols on routine duty had noticed the suspicious behavior of the youth and had stopped him. On checking his vehicle, they found an unspecified quantity of drugs in a bag and referred him to the Directorate General for Drug Control (DGDC).
Absconder held: The Hawalli police have arrested an unidentified Syrian man who had been sentenced to one year imprisonment, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the man was arrested on suspicion while walking along a road.
He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Couples in fight: Police have arrested four people — two Kuwaiti couples - for exchanging blows on a public road in front of a well-known commercial complex in Salmiya, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The daily added misunderstanding was the cause of the fight. Acting on information police rushed to the spot and referred the fighters to the area police station.
Six caught drunk: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested six Kuwaitis for drinking alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the drunkards were arrested for fighting inside a commercial complex in the area.

The daily said an unidentified person saw the drunkard staggering along a road and called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
Drunk woman nabbed: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti woman for driving under the influence of alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
The arrest came when the traffic police had set a check point to inspect heavy duty vehicles.
It has been reported the woman started screaming at the top of her voice for the police to clear the road soon. When police walked to the woman, they got the smell of alcohol.
Son’s bag stolen: A bedoun man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the Fahaheel Police Station accusing an unidentified person of stealing his son’s bag, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The bag contained photos, money and personal belongings.
