Rapist officer sent for probe Asians beat, rob compatriot

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: An officer working in the traffic sector of the Interior Ministry has been referred to the public prosecution for allegedly raping an expatriate woman in his vehicle in the parking lot of a government hospital last week, reports Al-Jarida daily. Undersecretary Lt General Ghazi Al-Omar had issued a directive to this effect.
The victim had said the officer insisted on offering her a ride when her car broke down. He then allegedly raped her and dropped her back at the place where her car had broken down and escaped.
The woman had noted down the plate number of the officer’s vehicle and filed a complaint.

Asian mugged: An Asian man sustained injuries in different parts of his body when two other Asians beat him, tied his hands and forcefully took KD 130 from him.
The victim told police he was walking in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh when the suspects mugged him. He said they fled from the scene immediately after taking his money, so he rushed to a nearby police station to report the incident. He provided the officers with a detailed description of his attackers. Investigations are underway to arrest the thieves.

Phone stolen: An unidentified young woman has filed a complaint against a youth, who allegedly broke into her family’s house in Jabriya and stole her mobile phone.
The complainant provided police with a detailed description of the suspect and he will be summoned soon to verify the woman’s claim.
