20 youths sought in policeman assault Police imposters rob expats
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: Police are looking for more than 20 youngsters who allegedly assaulted a policeman and damaged a police vehicle, reports Al-Rai daily.
The youngsters were endangering lives of others by performing stunts with their vehicles in Wafra. Acting on information, police rushed to the place, but the youngsters sped up. One policeman, however, chased the leader of the group who crashed into a cement barrier and escaped on foot. The policeman continued the chase and managed to arrest the leader. The other youngsters meanwhile came back, assaulted the policeman and damaged his car.
The policeman was rushed to hospital.
Duo assaults police officer: Police are looking for two unidentified persons for assaulting a police officer working at the Sa’ad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences, reports Al-Rai daily.
The officer, a first lieutenant, was on his way home when two persons traveling in a car without a number plate forced him to stop. They then tore off his military uniform and assaulted him allegedly because he did not give them way when they wanted to overtake him.
The officer was rushed to Adan Hospital and a case was registered at Sabah Al-Salem Police Station.
Police imposters rob expats: Police have arrested three Kuwaitis for impersonating police and robbing expatriates, reports Al-Anba daily.
Farwaniya securitymen had received many complaints from expatriates about imposters who robbed them of their cell phones. Intensive investigations and interrogations with those who bought stolen cell phones led to the arrest of one of the thieves who admitted to his crime and guided police to two compatriot partners.
The three thieves, who admitted to committing 12 such crimes, were referred to the Public Prosecution.
Expat gunman threatens man: Hawalli securitymen have arrested an expatriate for threatening to kill a salesman in a well-known bookshop in the area, reports Al-Rai daily.
The expatriate reportedly threatened the salesman with a pistol before running away. Investigations conducted by securitymen led to the expatriate’s arrest, said sources, adding other salesmen in the shop recognized the expatriate and said he was earlier accused of stealing.
