MoE studying the possibility of re-hiring some retired teachers Girls schools use services of 311 security women
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: The Ministry of Education (MoE) is studying the possibility of re-hiring retired male and female teachers, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Sources said a number of retired teachers submitted their applications after the ministry announced its need of teachers. The recently approved salary hike has encouraged a lot of retired teachers to return back to teaching, they added.
Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Affairs Mona Al-Lughani reportedly instructed the directors of all six educational zones to look for proper machinery to re-hire retired teachers and to benefit from them. Sources said the ministry will conduct training courses for candidates who are selected.
Meanwhile, girls schools in four educational zones have started using the services of 311 security women who have been chosen in coordination with the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP), reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The new security personnel will guard girls in primary, middle and high schools in Jahra, Farwaniya, Capital and Hawalli educational zones.
Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Education Aisha Al-Roudhan said the security women will be posted in school compounds, corridors and near rest rooms. In addition to protecting the students, they also have to prevent fights amongst the girls. Each security woman will receive a salary of KD 250 that will be paid even during summer vacations.
