Muggings, daylight robberies on rise as crime rate climbs Pakistani shot at, ‘finds’ bullet lodged in head

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: Police have arrested an unidentified person for allegedly attempting to steal KD 8,000 from a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said after the man withdrew KD 8,000 from a branch of an Islamic bank in Salmiya his wife happened to be driving behind him. She saw another car following him and alerted the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
After the man was arrested by the police, they were shocked to find in his car drug consuming tools and instruments to break into cars.
During interrogation the man is said to have admitted to the charge.

Man robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified person for attempting to rob a Kuwaiti man immediately after the man had withdrawn KD 100 from a bank, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said two masked persons threatened the citizen with a pistol and stole his money. However, he chased and caught one of them and called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
A police patrol rushed to the stop and arrested the man and referred him to the authorities.

Expat mugged: Police are looking for two unidentified persons wearing dishdashas for impersonating police and robbing KD 500 from an Arab man, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint to the Hawalli Police Station the man said he was walking along a road and the suspects driving in a Japanese car demanded to see his ID.
When he pulled out the wallet, one of the men grabbed his wallet containing his ID and KD 500 and escaped.
The complainant has provided police the number plate of the car of the culprits.

Pakistani shot at: Police are looking for an unidentified person for shooting at a Pakistani man in Abu Halifa, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Pakistani said he heard the sound of a shot and was shocked when he found blood oozing from his head.
X-rays showed a bullet had lodged in his head and doctors at the Adan Hospital operated on the man to extract the bullet.
The Pakistani has filed a complaint with the police and submitted a medical report to substantiate his claim.

Asians held: Police have arrested two Asians for allegedly stealing KD 2,000 from the car of a Kuwaiti man, an employee of the Kuwait Farmers Association, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint the man said he kept the money in his car and when he returned after some time he found someone had broken the side glass of the car.
 The arrests came after the man pointed a finger of accusation at the Asian workers. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thieves.

Cars broken into: The Salmiya police have arrested an unidentified Arab man for breaking into cars, reports Al-Rai daily.
The suspect was arrested after he broke into the car belonging to the wife of a police officer and identified the thief after personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted the fingerprints from the car.
Armed with a search and arrest warrant, police then raided the house of the thief in Salmiya and arrested him. During interrogation the thief is said to have admitted to the charge.
