Ethiopian maid holds sponsor’s kids ‘hostage’ at knifepoint

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: An Ethiopian housemaid is said to have held three children of her sponsor hostage and threatened to stab them with a knife she was holding.
Sources said a rescue team rushed to the scene immediately after the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received a report about the episode. Experts managed to control the maid and rescued the children without any injuries. The maid was referred to the area police station and a case was registered against her.

33 arrested: Security operatives from Farwaniya, in a recent campaign across the governorate, arrested 33 violators of law and other residency violators belonging to various nationalities. The culprits have since been referred to the relevant authority for necessary action.

Cash stolen: Unknown persons raided the home of a Kuwaiti citizen in Ishbiliya and stole KD 10,000 cash. The citizen told policemen that he kept the money inside a room at the house and was surprised when it went missing. Fingerprints were lifted from the scene, and a case was registered to trace the thieves.
Meanwhile, another citizen reported to policemen in Ishbiliya that KD 4,000 had been stolen from his house.
A case was registered for investigation.

Flee bid foiled
: Security operatives at the airport foiled an attempt by one Egyptian expatriate involved in a criminal case to leave the country.
Sources said the suspect was arrested while he was trying to leave and referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
