Kuwaiti wife thrashed in public

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: A Kuwaiti woman, working for the Ministry of Interior, has filed a complaint with the Salhiya Police Station, accusing her husband of beating her on a public road, reports Al-Rai daily.
The wife added she was having food at a restaurant and soon after she left the place she saw her husband following her. He waved her to pull over and she obeyed.
He then asked her why she did not answer his call and she replied the cell phone was in silent mode.
Not satisfied with the reply, he beat her in front of the people on the road, got into his vehicle and drove off.
The daily did not give more details.

Drunk women: Police have arrested two women for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
The arrest came when the women were walking along a road in Salmiya. A police patrol suspected the women and when an officer asked them what they were doing at an ‘odd time’ she shouted back saying it was none of his business.
When the officer went close to the women, he got the smell of alcohol. They have been referred to the Criminal Investigation Department.

29 arrested: Acting on information and armed with search and arrest warrants, the Farwaniya police recently raided nine apartments in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Hassawi and arrested 29 prostitutes, pimps and people who had gone to seek pleasure, reports Al-Anba daily.
All those arrested have been referred to the authorities.
Police have also arrested 33 persons for violating residence laws and referred them to the authorities for legal action.

Fake police sought: Police are looking for two people for impersonating police and duping a youth in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint to the Salmiya police the youth said he was sitting with his girlfriend along a beach and two young men approached them and asked to see their identification papers.
The youth then requested the two ‘policemen’ to leave them alone to protect the identity of the girl with him. This gave an opportunity for the impersonators to blackmail him and left them alone after receiving KD 150 — the price of their silence
