Govt. subsidized ration foodstuffs on sale
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24 : The Farwaniya police have arrested an unidentified Asian man. He was caught red-handed selling subsidized ration foodstuffs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said a police patrol saw a big crowd of men and women gathered inside a building compound in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and when the policemen walked to the place to find out what was going on, they saw the man selling foodstuffs.
Police are interrogating the man to find out from where he got the subsidized foodstuffs.
150 bottles seized: The Farwaniya police have arrested two Asians for bootlegging, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources the suspects were caught at the entrance to Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh on suspicion because when they saw a police car they looked nervous.
When police ordered the man to pull over and checked the vehicle, they found 150 bottles of booze.
The booze and the suspects have been referred to the authorities.
Gamblers nabbed: The Ahmadi police have arrested a four-man gang for gambling, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources police acting on a tip-off raided the men’s apartment in Mahboula and caught them red-handed.
They have been handed over to the authorities.
Absconder held: A 22-year-old Kuwaiti who had been sentenced in absentia has been arrested by the General Department of Drugs Control and handed over to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the suspect was arrested in Abu Hassaniya. Police records show the man had been sentenced in absentia to five years imprisonment.
