Scores of youths destroying peace in malls rounded up
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: A Kuwaiti was arrested in Reggae for the possession of narcotic pills.
A police patrol on duty in the area noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they asked the driver - a Kuwaiti - to pull over. When the officers approached the car and demanded for the identification documents of the driver, they found out he was in a confused state. This prompted them to thoroughly inspect the vehicle, resulting in the discovery of an undisclosed quantity of narcotic pills.
A case was registered and the Kuwaiti was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Tent looted: A Kuwaiti man lodged a complaint in Jahra police station and reported that thieves stole his belongings worth KD 700 from a tent at Metlaa desert region.
The complainant explained he discovered the electrical appliances were missing, as he visited the camping site. Police have since registered the case for investigation.
Youths rounded up: Police have arrested 30 people during an intense campaign against inconsiderate youngsters who cause trouble in shopping complexes and public places, and referred them to authorities. The youths were arrested in possession of knives and other sharp objects.
About 50 securitymen and officers led by Director of Hawalli Investigation Department Colonel Abdulrahman Al-Suhail had participated in the campaign.
Woman reports lovers: Police arrested a Kuwaiti man and an Arab woman for committing immoral acts inside a car parked in the parking lot of a commercial complex in Hawalli, reports Al-Rai daily.
A Kuwaiti woman called police, saying she saw two lovers indulging in immoral activities inside a four-wheel drive vehicle in the parking lot.
Police rushed to the scene, caught the lovers in the act and referred them to authorities.
Cable thieves held: Police arrested two men - an Egyptian and an Indian - for attempting to steal copper cables worth KD 3,000 from a store in a commercial complex in Shuwaikh, and referred them to authorities, reports Al-Anba daily.
Police rushed to the place on receiving a call from the guards manning the complex. The thieves reportedly admitted that they had committed several such crimes.
Suicide bid foiled: Farwaniya police and firemen rushed to the house of a Kuwaiti man and prevented him from committing suicide by jumping from a high place, reports Al-Anba daily.
Police and firemen engaged the man in conversation and kept urging him not to jump until a firefighter managed to overpower him.
The man is said to be suffering from psychological problems and suspects that his wife is cheating on him.
Clever drunkard: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for driving under the influence of alcohol and crashing into a number of cars parked in front of a building in Jahra, reports Al-Rai daily.
The drunk, on noticing the damage he had caused and in an attempt to avoid legal problems, stepped out of his vehicle, broke five bottles of alcohol beside the cars and went to police station to file a complaint that his car had been stolen.
The owners of damaged cars, meanwhile, went to police station and were surprised to find the drunk already there. Cases were registered and police are conducting investigations.
Bedoun arrested: A special duty squad of the Interior Ministry arrested a Bedoun youth who was wanted by law in a murder case and for failing to pay KD 55,000 to a senior police officer, reports Al-Anba daily.
The squad set up a trap and arrested the suspect while he was leaving a café.
15 cars ‘locked’: Farwaniya traffic police issued 50 citations and put wheel locks on 15 cars during an intense campaign against traffic law violators in the area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
