Tamahi bloc calls on Premier to ascend the grilling podium Bloc warns PM of dodging interpellation

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The political bloc Tamahi requires HH the Prime Minister to ascend the podium to disprove the pivots of grilling submitted against him on corruption and misappropriation of public funds, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The bloc warned the premier of dodging the interpellation or resorting to the Constitutional Court or referring the proposal to the Legislative Committee, noting such steps will be seen as an attempt to escape from political confrontation to empty the Constitution of its content.
Apparently, the government is keen on commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Kuwaiti Constitution by burying the Constitution to protect the premier, the bloc noted.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Tamahi Engineer Abdulmane’ Al-Sawan confirmed the participation of some ministers and lawmakers to suspend the grilling request is a political scandal, which is unpardonable. At the same time, he urged the Prime Minister to ascend the grilling podium and reply to accusations launched against him. “If the premier’s situation is legitimate, I wonder why he refuses to face citizens, as requested by the proponents of grilling”
He also urged honest lawmakers to take a positive stance toward the proposal submitted against HH the Prime Minister before it’s too late. He also asked the political powers to collaborate positively in this critical phase to draft a road map for the country to confront corruption and clear the political scene of corrupt individuals. He stressed that Kuwaitis realize and appreciate the honest acts.
On the other hand, some legal experts see the National Assembly’s decision to withdraw the grilling MPs Ahmad Al-Sadoun and Abdulrahman Al-Anjari submitted against the premier as victory for the Constitution and its principles, in line with rules and regulations, reports Al-Hurriya daily.
Dr Hesham Al-Saleh said the interpellation is not constitutional and there’s no need to vote on it. Hence, the parliament cannot legalize an unconstitutional matter.
For his part, Attorney Adel Qurban added that the government has the right to lift because it’s improper and illegitimate to discuss unconstitutional proposals. He indicated that some lawmakers are interested in controlling authorities.
