Don’t sanction musical parties during holidays I don’t own properties in Qatar: Saadoun
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: MP Mohammed Hayef has warned the government particularly the ministries of Interior, Commerce and Industry and Information against organizing music parties during the Eid Al-Adha holidays. The warning came following advertisements placed by some people through the media outlets, reports Al-Rai daily.
In press statement, MP Hayef referred to the advertisements and campaigns on social networking website Twitter by a group of youths who talked about organizing music parties in some suspicious locations during the Eid holidays.
The parliamentarian said such functions should be stopped. He also said the Ministry of Interior must fight this moral corruption in “our society. We will be watching closely any violations that will take place in this regard and take to task the authorities which fail to do their duty.”
The office of MP Ahmad Al-Saadoun issued a statement, denying rumors that Al-Saadoun and his family own land and real estate assets in Qatar, reports Al-Anba daily.
The statement said Al-Saadoun has not visit Qatar for several years and that he never had deposits, land or any other property in the said country. Al-Saadoun further challenged the rumor-mongers to prove their claims.
Meanwhile, MP Ali Al-Deqbasi who is also the President of the Arab Parliament met Secretary-General of the Arab League Dr Nabil Al-Arabi at the league headquarters recently. Al-Arabi and the Arab Parliament members talked about the emergency Arab ministerial meeting held to discuss the Syrian crisis.
Al-Deqbasi stressed on Arab Parliament’s decision to freeze its activities in Damascus in protest against the human rights violations and other atrocities being committed by the Syrian regime. “We want an end to the killings and oppression in Syria. Also, the releasing of political prisoners will be the real solution for the humanitarian crisis taking place in Syria,” he added.
As many as 12 MPs submitted an application to the Speaker of the National Assembly Jassem Al-Khorafi, requesting for a special session on Nov 14th to vote on the bills on salary scales of teachers and stipends of students, reports Al-Anba daily.
Kuwait Teachers Society (KTS) has called on MPs to attend the session and said if for some reason, the session cannot take place, “we will request the MPs to vote on the two bills during the Nov 15th session.”
