Four Egyptians perish as three others critical in Kabad crash Huge cache of foreign liquor seized

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: Four Egyptians lost their lives and many others were injured in traffic accidents at various locations of the country.
The four Egyptians died and three of their compatriots sustained serious injuries when their vehicle collided with a crane on Kabad Motorway. Based on a distress call the Operations Room received in that regard, a team of securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene. The remains were referred to Forensics by Criminal Evidences Men, while paramedics rushed the injured people to the Farwaniya Hospital in critical condition. A case was registered.
Meanwhile, a citizen in his mid-20s was injured with additional fractures to his right thigh during a two-car collision accident on the Riyadh Motorway, opposite Khaldiya University. Paramedics were available to transfer the citizen to the Amiri Hospital for medical care.
And, two cars crashed on the Arabian Gulf Street and resulted in injuries to a Kuwaiti woman and an Egyptian expatriate.

Huge cache of foreign liquor seized: An Iraqi expatriate wanted for various criminal offenses was arrested by anti-narcotics sleuths with 307 bottles of liquor in his possession.
This followed a tip-off the Directorate General of Drug Control received about his activities. According to an Interior Ministry press release, a team was formed to trail the suspect and he was finally arrested in Salwa while trying to hide the contraband inside a car near his house. He admitted trading in alcohol during interrogation and was referred to Public Prosecution.

Pakistani dies on plane: A Pakistani man died aboard a Kuwaiti flight allegedly from a heart attack, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added the passenger complained of uneasiness shortly before the plane could land at the Kuwait International Airport and the captain of the plane informed the control tower that he had a passenger onboard whose health was steadily deteriorating.
Soon after the plane landed, a doctor examined the passenger and discovered he was dead. A Forensic report showed the man died as a result of cardiac arrest.

Father ‘kills’ child: An unidentified parent has been arrested by police for negligence and causing the death of his child, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the child was behind his father’s vehicle and the former without paying attention reversed the car running over the child. He heard one loud cry from the child and then there was silence.
The tragedy took place in Sabah Al-Salem. A relative of the child who saw the incident called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior but the child had died on the spot.
The corpse of the child has been referred to Forensics.

Drug trafficker held: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said a police patrol on routine duty in Salmiya saw a person parking his vehicle in an abandoned area under the cover of darkness. When he saw the police driving in his direction, he tried in vain to escape.
The police then searched his vehicle and seized pieces of hashish and the man claimed it was for his personal use.
However, when the police checked the man’s name in computer, they discovered he was recently released from jail after serving a five-year sentence for trafficking in drugs.

Maid in thief’s aid:  Police have arrested a Bangladeshi man for sneaking into the home of a Kuwaiti man with the help of a maid to steal electrical appliances, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The arrest came when the Kuwaiti sensed the presence of a stranger in his home and called the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry.
Police rushed to the house and caught the man red-handed. During interrogation he admitted he had come to steal the electrical appliances. He also said the maid facilitated his entry into the house.
The thief and the maid have been referred to the authorities.

Driver robs sponsor: Police are looking for an Asian driver for stealing money from his sponsor’s home, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the complainant the suspect has escaped with KD 820 in cash and gold jewelry worth KD 4,000.
