Three more firemen ordered detained in protest damage Man acquitted in police assault

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: Kuwait Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of three fire-fighters for damaging property at the General Fire Services Directorate and assaulting security officers, bringing the number of firefighters detained in this case to five.

Man acquitted: The Court of Appeals acquitted a man of assault and humiliating a public officer, and declined from punishing him for the possession of narcotics and driving under influence.
According to the defendant lawyer Abdullah Al-Alanda, the arrest procedure was defective, since his client wasn’t caught in the act.
He also said the accusation about drunk driving was baseless, while inconsistencies were detected in the statements of the prosecuting officer.

‘Leave the court’: The presiding judge of the Misdemeanor Court ordered eviction of a female presenter at a local satellite television channel in the recently-concluded hearing on a case filed by MP Musallam Al-Barrak against the woman and her employer.
The decision was taken when the woman disrespected the judge and disrupted the court proceedings. The judge ordered the woman out of the court and she was summoned only when the time came for her to appear on the witness stand.

Detention extended: The Public Prosecution extended the detention of a blogger until Thursday to complete the investigation procedures.
The Ministry of Interior has filed a lawsuit against the blogger and three others for posting statements deemed offensive to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Twitter.
The Criminal Investigation Department had earlier questioned the accused, who were then referred to the Public Prosecution for the necessary legal action.
