Unstable weather expected for Eid

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2, (KUNA): The weather expected for the Eid holiday is unstable and there is a chance for scattered rain, head of the meteorological forecast department at the Civil Aviation Directorate General Ali Al-Mutawwa told KUNA on Wednesday.

Al-Mutawwa said the seasonal Sudan low pressure system is expected to approach the region with the start of next week on Arafa Day, and winds would turn southeastern and clouds would appear and increase as of Saturday afternoon. This would bring unstable conditions and high probability of scattered rain Saturday evening and Sunday.

As of Sunday, winds would again turn northwestern and pick up speed on the first day of Eid, with more stable weather as of Monday. Maximum temperatures drop on the second and third days of Eid and moderate speed northwesterly winds result in a prevailing sense of relatively cold weather at nighttime and early morning.
The weather today is expected to be cloudy to partially cloudy and last so till Friday, when clouds dissipate and temperatures rise again to reach 30-32 degrees till end of week.

Northern winds are expected to change direction frequently over the next two days which would cause rise of dust in open areas and bring on high waves.

Some areas saw smatterings of rain Monday and weather stations measured a rainfall of 3.6 millimeter in Mtarbah desert area, and 1 millimeter in Abdeli.
