Woman, trio probed in murder plot Kuwaiti acquitted in drugs case
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Public Prosecution summoned a young woman and three young men for interrogation after a Kuwaiti man accused them of plotting to kill and rob him.
The plaintiff filed a complaint at Rumaithiya Police Station against the woman, who is also his girlfriend, and the three men in which he claimed that his girlfriend sent text messages to her accomplices while the two were in his apartment. He added that she took advantage of his going to the bathroom to let in the three accomplices inside the apartment where they attacked him with sharp objects and stole his money.
The plaintiff’s lawyer Faisal Al-Otaibi asked the prosecution to have his client examined by the Forensic Department. His request was granted.
Man acquitted: The Criminal Court acquitted a Kuwaiti man of charges of consuming and trading in heroin.
The defendant was arrested while he was having lunch at a restaurant. His lawyer, Hassan Al-Ajmi, argued that the accusations were baseless as the investigations were faulty. He added that the allegations were not supported by any concrete evidence, and concluded that the charges were fabricated.
Protestors probed: The Public Prosecution is investigating two firefighters who were arrested during a protest in front of the Kuwait Fire Services Directorate.
The suspects are charged for damaging public utilities, humiliating a public servant, and assaulting a security officer.
Meanwhile, sources said the Public Prosecution has asked the National Assembly to lift the immunity of MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei based on his involvement in the protest of the firefighters. This will pave the way for Public Prosecution to question him, sources indicated.
