Kuwait triumph at Arab Athletics

KUWAIT, Oct 30, (KUNA): Kuwait won the Arab Athletics Championship in UAE’s Al-Ein City with four gold and four silver medals. The last day of the championship saw Kuwait’s Mohammad Al-Azmi winning silver in the 800m race while Essa Al-Zankawi won the silver medal in discuss throw won a throw of 54.96 meters.
The first gold medal was won by Mishari Suror in the shot put with 19.15 meters, while teammate Ahmad Abul’s throw was 18.67 meters which made him second. Fawzi Dahash won Kuwait’s second gold medal after winning the 110m hurdles in 13.75 seconds, while teammate Abdulaziz Al-Mandeel came in second with 13. 79 seconds.

Fahad Al-Marshad succeeded in vaulting five meters in the pole vault competition to win the gold, while Kuwait’s hammer throw specialist Ali Al-Zankawi won the gold after throwing 79.34 meters. Assistant Secretary of Kuwait’s Amateur Athletics Federation Mohammad Al-Otaibi, speaking to KUNA, said he was proud of the Kuwaiti athletes and their determination to win as many events as they can. He hoped the athletes would continue their successes at all levels.
