Egyptian separating 2 fighters loses own life Fisherman dead, many missing at sea

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: An Egyptian man who is believed to be in his 30s died during a fight between a compatriot and a Syrian, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to a security source the death occurred when the victim intervened to solve a problem between a compatriot and the Syrian who were fighting in an open area in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
According to reports the victim was fatally injured. The Syrian has been arrested by the police. The daily did not give details of the injuries.
The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics.

Fisherman dies: One fisherman has died and several others are reportedly missing due to bad weather over the last few days, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The victim allegedly fell from the fishing trawler while fishing off the Ouha Island and due to poor visibility all rescue attempts proved in vain.
The daily did not give more details.

Man nabbed: Police arrested a wanted Kuwaiti man at a checkpoint on the Restaurants Street in Salmiya late Sunday. The man was sentenced to two years imprisonment in a financial case. He was referred to authorities for further action.

Youth stabbed: A Kuwaiti youth was stabbed in the hand in a fight that broke out among a group of youths in front of a commercial complex on the Arabian Gulf Street on Monday. Acting on information, paramedics rushed to the scene and referred the youth to Mubarak Hospital for treatment, while securitymen referred the other youths to police station. The fight reportedly took place over a basketball match.

Phones stolen:
Thieves broke into a mobile phone shop in Salmiya area and escaped with some phones and other items worth KD 1,700. An employee of the shop discovered the theft in the morning when he came to open it.
Criminal Evidence Department officials lifted fingerprints from the scene and investigations are underway.

Call traders held: Acting on information, the Farwaniya police in cooperation with personnel from the Ministry of Communications recently raided illegal communications centers in Farwaniya and Khaitan and arrested nine Asians for tampering with telephone lines and offering illegal overseas call services, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Police have confiscated from the illegal service providers computers and communication devices and referred them to the authorities.

Anti-transfer protest
: One hundred and eleven employees working at the Subbiya plant gathered in front of the office of the Minister of Electricity and Water to protest a decision to transfer the Operation Superintendent at the plant Engineer Jaber Al-Hindas to Al-Shuwaikh plant, reports Al-Rai daily.
The employees have requested the minister to cancel the decision saying it will not serve the progress of work.
The employees added the superintendent has been working in the plant for eight years and is known for his good relationship with the employees.
