Plan to curtail rising cost of hiring domestics, says official
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23: Director-General of the General Immigration Department Major-General Kamel Al-Awadhi was recently quoted as saying some domestic workers employment offices are unduly raising fees to recruit workers, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Al-Awadhi added there is a huge number of domestic helpers recruiting offices in Kuwait. He also said the department has prepared a plan to solve the problem of the hike in prices.
Al-Awadhi added permits will only be issued to domestic helpers who hold certificates stating they have passed certain courses in one of the accredited institutes in their countries.
