Men, women in free-for-all on Gulf Road near Salmiya Compatriot stabs Ethiopian

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: Two groups of males and females engaged in a public brawl along the Arabian Gulf Road opposite Salmiya, based on a minor disagreement over the right of way.
Sources said the men and women exchanged blows and threw empty water containers while verbally abusing each other. Immediate intervention of security operatives doused the tension, after which the officers referred them to the concerned authority for investigation.

Woman harassed: A Kuwaiti man was arrested recently for allegedly harassing a young woman at the Kuwait International Fair grounds in Mishref.
Securitymen rushed to the location after receiving a call from the supposed victim, who gave a detailed description of the suspect.  The Kuwaiti was referred to the concerned security department for interrogation and other necessary legal action.

Lovers caught: A Kuwaiti alerted security operatives when he saw a neighbor’s son visiting his housemaid at his Salwa residence. Police arrived at the scene and took the youth and the maid into custody for further investigation.

Company fined: The Ministry of Education has asked a cleaning company to pay KD 7,000 as fine for not abiding by the terms of a contract it signed for cleaning work in Ahmadi educational directorate, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Undersecretary Tomadher Al-Seidrawi said the fine amount will be deducted from the company’s bank guarantee.


Man stabbed: A 27-year old Ethiopian man was stabbed in the chest, as he engaged a compatriot in a fight at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The attacker fled the scene after the incident, but police registered a case against him. The injured man was taken to the Farwaniya Hospital by paramedics for medical attention.

Pakistani nabbed
: A supervisor in Firdous branch of Kuwaiti Municipality got a Pakistani man arrested for selling counterfeit perfumes and incense, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The Pakistani used to sell his products by going door to door in residential areas and other departments of ministries and schools. The Pakistani was caught in possession of several bags containing counterfeit products and will be required to pay fines worth hundreds of dinars.
