Teacher ‘tortures’ student ‘Unacceptable’
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The parent of a 12-year-old student Abdul-Aziz Esam Al-Fadli has filed a complaint with the Taima Police Station in Jahra accusing an expatriate teacher of severely beating his son who is studying in the Ali Al-Khaled School in Al-Oyoun, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to the initial medical report the student has several bruises on his body. The report also says as a result his heartbeat is irregular.
The father added after his son was beaten he was refused permission to call his parents to take him to hospital and instead was ‘detained’ at the office of the social expert until the end of school hours. The daily added the student fell unconscious and was rushed to the Jahra Hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit where he is still recuperating.
The Director of Jahra Educational Zone Abdullah Al-Harbi is said to have visited the student at the hospital.
He was quoted as saying this kind of behavior from the school is totally unacceptable. He also said the teacher has been referred for interrogation and that appropriate action will be taken against him.
