Two Labour officials under probe Illegal transactions of firms sanctioned

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has referred two senior officials to the legal affairs department for questioning, reports Al-Rai daily.
A source from the ministry said both the officials abused their authority and approved illegal transactions of some companies. The transactions were related to the hiring of laborers. 

MP’s kin bailed: The Public Prosecution has released on KD 100 bail a standing MP’s brother who is accused of swindling a Kuwaiti citizen to the tune of KD 245,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
The swindler allegedly told the victim that he would invest the money in a project but conveniently kept the money for himself.

Caretaker is thief: Police arrested a caretaker of a farm and his friends for stealing four sheep belonging to his sponsor, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Kuwaiti owner of the farm noticed the disappearance of the four sheep and lodged a complaint with police.  A police source said the sponsor handed over the caretaker and his friends to police after the caretaker admitted that he sold the sheep for KD 10 each and shared the money with his friends.

Car set alight: Police are looking for an unidentified person for setting alight a car which is suspected to be stolen, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Many people performing Al-Fajr prayers at a mosque in Firdous heard a loud bang near the mosque and later saw a car on fire. Acting on information, firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the fire.
An eye-witness said a speeding motorist crashed into metal pipes placed in the area. The motorist then apparently stepped out of the vehicle, set it on fire and escaped.
