Woman lures man to join her in business, dupes him of KD 9,000 Maid accused of stealing KD 450, jewellery worth KD 1,600
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: An Asian expatriate was apprehended by security operatives in Farwaniya area with 30 bottles of local brew in his possession. He has since been referred to Public Prosecution.
Security operatives apprehended a drunken Kuwaiti citizen after he was caught red-handed with a bottle of imported liquor in his possession at a commercial complex in Salmiya area.
Later, the officers uncovered the suspect was wanted for various criminal and civil offenses. He was referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Homosexual arrested: Patrolmen from Hawalli arrested a homosexual disguised as a woman for loitering in Salmiya area. He was referred to the relevant authority.
Man duped of KD 9,000: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti woman for duping a male compatriot to the tune of KD 9,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a complaint filed by the victim’s lawyer Jalil Al-Tabbakh, the woman lured him to join her in a business venture and the man invested KD 9,000. They both planned to open a jewelry shop.
The lawyer said after the woman got the money she refused to receive calls from the man and later switched off the cell phone.
Cash, jewellery stolen: A Kuwaiti man who is believed to be in his 40s has filed a complaint with the Khaitan Police Station accusing his Asian maid of escaping with his wife’s jewelry and money, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
In his complaint, the Kuwaiti said the maid stole KD 450 and gold worth KD 1,600 from the safe.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
Laptop seized from inmate: The Central Prison administration has reportedly seized a laptop computer and Internet flash modem (e-go) from an inmate during a surprise inspection campaign, reports Al-Rai daily.
A security source said the administration has opened a wide investigation to know how a computer could be smuggled into the facility.
Workers steal KD 600: A 30-year-old Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the Jabriya police accusing three employees (two Asians and an Arab) of his hair dressing saloon of stealing KD 600 and many other items, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The man said he discovered the theft when he went to the saloon in the morning.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
Rental car not returned: The Farwaniya police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for breach of trust, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the man rented a vehicle from a car rental office and failed to return back as promised.
The daily added the man was arrested by a police patrol in Farwaniya.
‘Law’ violater held: Police from the Capital governorate have referred a 39-year-old Asian to the concerned authorities for violating residence law, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspect was arrested at a late evening hour while walking along a road in Murgab.
The daily did not give more details.
‘KD 500 withdraw’: An Egyptian man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the Shuwaikh Police Station accusing an unidentified person of stealing money from his account, reports Al-Anba daily.
In his complaint the man said he lost his ATM card in Shuwaikh and he discovered someone had withdrawn KD 500 from his account when he got a message on his cell phone.
Police are looking for the suspect.
Man held for drug use: The Mubarak Al-Kabeer police during a routine patrol in the area are said to have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti man for consuming drugs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the police saw some movement inside a parked area at an unidentified location and caught the man red-handed consuming drugs.
He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
School broken into: Police are looking for unidentified burglars who allegedly broke into the Ibn Rushd School in Faiha and stole computers, reports Al-Rai daily.

Drunk driver arrested: The Hawalli police have arrested a Kuwaiti man who is believed to be in his 30s for drinking alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the man was arrested for reckless driving and nearly causing a traffic accident in Hawalli. He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
