‘Nurse rights first priority’ Court adjourns blasphemy case

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Minister of Health Dr Hilal Al-Sayer is said to have paid a visit to the Egyptian male nurse who was allegedly beaten by a Kuwaiti a few days ago inside the Farwaniya Hospital, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Dr Al-Sayer was quoted as saying all legal measures will be taken to protect the rights of the nurse.
Meanwhile, the nurse in describing the incident said the Kuwaiti was inside the observation room because he had an abscess in the thigh. He added the case was not urgent.
He added the Kuwaiti wanted to be treated soon and looked nervous and lost his temper because he did not see a doctor in the room.
He then vented his anger at the male nurse by verbally abusing him and beating him with the help of his friend.
He added when he went to a police station to file a complaint, he was shocked to learn the suspect’s friend had filed a complaint against him accusing him of punching the man in the face.

Blasphemy case: The Misdemeanor Court adjourned lawsuit against two individuals accused of spraying abusive and libelous graffiti on the walls of a mosque and a school against the mother of believers Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her), and Caliph Omar Bin Al-Khattab to Nov 13. The suspects also face charges in similar leaflets they allegedly distributed.
Earlier, the Criminal Evidences Department referred the suspects to court for prosecution and also verify if the inscription matches their handwriting and graffiti on those walls. Attorney for the first defendant Abdullah Elanda said he is ready to defend his client and that law will take its due course.

Case dismissed: The Civil Section of the Court of First Instance supervised by Counselor Bader Al-Sarawi canceled a lawsuit counselor Nayef Al-Mutairat filed against attorney Emad Al-Seif in May for inappropriate application.
In his capacity as the attorney for HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Al-Mutairat sued Al-Seif for challenging his position as the head of a panel and demanded KD 100 compensation from him.
