‘Council workers connive with MP in grabbing 1m sqm land’ Member of MC files complaint with Public Prosecution
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: A member of the Municipal Council Abdullah Fahd Al-Enezi has filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution on the background of the so-called millions of dinars deposit scandal involving MPs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The complainant claims this is theft of public money and accuses employees of the Municipal Council of conniving with a Member of Parliament to commit the crime.
In his complaint, which was submitted through his lawyer, Osman Al-Saif, Al-Enezi said he filed the complaint as a citizen because all his efforts to force the executive body of the Municipal Council to file the complaint with the prosecution had failed.
Al-Enezi said the complaint comes against the background of the acquisition of more than one million square meters of land and stealing sand from this land in pursuance of a contract with the other party to fill in certain sites without permission or legal basis.
He said one of the MPs — as is evident in the initial contracts — facilitated the transfer of sand to the site without permission or legal basis, and by doing so he is also a partner in the crime and the theft estimated to be in millions of dinars.
