Indian nabbed, Filipino arrested
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: During a surprise inspection campaign in Al-Firdous, personnel from the Kuwait Municipality are said to have arrested an unidentified Indian man for selling foodstuffs and soft drinks to groceries in the area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the man admitted to the charge of selling the products without licence.
The Municipality personnel has issued a citation against the man and referred him to the Commercial Prosecution.
Filipino arrested: The State Security police have arrested an unidentified Filipino employee working for a company doing work for the Ministry of Defence, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the suspect was reportedly arrested for illegally entering the Ali Al-Salem air base.
At the time of his arrest he was found to be carrying sensitive documents. The daily did not give more details.
Over 150 bottles seized: The Ahmadi police have arrested two Asian for trading in locally manufactured booze, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to reports police suspected the men because they looked suspicious when they were parking their car on an open ground.
When police approached them, they tried in vain to escape on foot. Police chased and arrested them and seized 82 bottles of booze from their car.
In another similar case, police are said to have seized 69 bottles of local booze from an Asian man. He was caught in Abu Halifa.
KD 8,000 missing: The Ahmadi police have referred two Arabs to the concerned authorities for allegedly stealing KD 8,000 from an unidentified company, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports one of the men working for the company was entrusted to collect KD 38,000 from the Palace of Justice.
However, the man is said to have handed over only KD 30,000 to the company. When a complaint was filed against the man and he was summoned by the police for interrogation, he denied stealing the money.
He added there were two other men in the car when he was transporting the money. The men are being investigated.
10 illegals held: The Farwaniya police have arrested 10 expatriates of various nationalities for violating residence laws, reports Al-Mustaqbal daily.
The suspects were caught in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. They have been referred to the area police station.
