Maid, cash missing; Expat beats wife 17 residence law violators held
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: Police are looking for an Asian maid for stealing KD 300 and her passport from her sponsor’s home in Adan, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily added the sponsor discovered the theft when he returned home from work.
Expat beats wife: The Salmiya Police Station has filed a case against an unidentified expatriate for insulting and beating his wife without reason, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the daily the suspect works for a lawyer’s office.
The suspect will be summoned for interrogation.
17 residence law violators held: The Hawalli police during a security campaign in all governorates are said to have arrested 11 people for violating residence laws, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Three of those arrested had been sentenced in absentia and they have been referred to the Sentences Enforcement Department, four for possessing drugs and two for not carrying their civil IDs and one who was wanted by the General Department for Drugs Control.
Meanwhile, the Farwaniya police have arrested six Asians for violating residence laws during a security check in Khaitan, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities for legal measures.
During the campaign police are also said to have arrested a wanted Kuwaiti man who had been sentenced in absentia for committing a crime.
He has been referred to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Youth beaten: The Hawalli police have arrested four unidentified youths for assaulting another youth on the Restaurants Street in Salmiya, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to security sources the victim was badly beaten and he has been admitted to the Amiri Hospital with serious injuries and fractures on his body. The sources said the victim was taken to a hospital by paramedics.
Medicine overdose: An unidentified maid who was ill and allegedly fell unconscious after taking an overdose of medicine, was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Jahra Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information rushed to the home of the victim and found her unconscious.
Police investigations reveal it is the sponsor of the maid who gave her the large dose of medicine.
Guns, drugs seized: Police have arrested four Kuwaitis for possessing two guns and drugs, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the suspects were driving along the Wafra Road and when police ordered the men to pull over, they tried in vain to escape.
However, police chased and arrested them and referred them and the contraband to the concerned authorities.
3 hurt in fight: Three unidentified youths who were injured during a fight on a street in Firdous have been admitted to the Farwaniya Hospital, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
Police are looking for the suspects who allegedly escaped from the scene before police arrived.
TV stolen from mall: Police are looking for unidentified persons for stealing a television set from a commercial complex, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The complaint in this regard has been filed with the Jahra police by the head of the center.
In his complaint the man said the theft was discovered by the laborers when they came for work in the morning.
