Sick leave as per new labour law

Can you please tell me how many days sick leave one can take in a year as per the new Labour Law? Is it possible for any Kuwaiti company to have its own Labour Law? I work in a reputed Kuwaiti company and it does not follow the Labour Law. They have created their own Labour Law (for sick leave) and we are following the same. What to do? We don’t have any other option?

There is only one Labour Law and that is the one passed by the National Assembly, approved by the government and endorsed by HH the Amir. If any company violates this Labor Law, it can be reported to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. The ministry will then take action.

Article 69 of the Kuwait Labour Law on sick leave is reproduced for your information.

A worker is entitled to the following sick leave during the year.
15 days – at full pay
10 days – at three quarters of the pay
10 days – at half pay
10 days – at quarter pay
30 days without pay.
