Wanted Filipino Women arrested
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: Police from the Capital Governorate have arrested two Filipino women who were wanted by law, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
One woman was arrested on the Canada Dry Street and police records show she was wanted in four civil cases.
The other was arrested in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area. She was wanted in one case.
The same police have arrested an Indian man at an unidentified location on whom a missing persons report had been filed by his sponsor.
All those arrested have been referred to the authorities.
Law violators arrested: The Farwaniya police in cooperation with the Kuwait Municipality recently launched an intensive campaign at the Friday Market targeting residence law violators and persons selling banned items at the market, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The campaign resulted in the arrest of 13 residence law violators and people selling military uniforms, police flashers and knives.
Meanwhile, the so-called Tripartite Committee comprising members from ministries of Interior, Social Affairs and Labor and Commerce and Industry recently ‘raided’ a number of women’s saloons and tailor shops in Hawalli and arrested seven expatriates for violating residence laws, reports Al-Qabas daily.
An official source said the campaign lasted for four hours. Those arrested include three women and four men.
The source added, the arrested persons were referred to the Immigration Investigation Department while citations have been issued for the shops owners.
KD 2,000 cell phones stolen: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a case with the Andalus Police Station accusing unidentified persons of breaking into his mobile grocery shop in Reggae, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The thieves are said to have escaped with 15 cell phones worth KD 2,000. In his complaint the man said he discovered the theft when he came to open his shop in the morning.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
Drugs sicken Lebanese: A Lebanese youth who fell ill allegedly after taking an overdose of drugs inside his home in Nugra, has been admitted to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
It has been reported when the father saw his son sprawled on the floor he called out to him but the latter did not respond.
The father then rushed the son to a hospital and he was admitted to the intensive care unit.
A case has been filed against the son.
