Man bailed in kill bid on his wife

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: The Prosecutor General ordered a Kuwaiti man in his 30s who had been detained for allegedly trying to kill his wife and unlawfully possessing arms and ammunition to be released on a KD 300 bail.
The complainant had filed a case at a police station and accused the husband of firing a shot at her. She also alleged that the man possessed an unlicensed weapon.
Counsel to the defendant Faisal Al-Otaibi implored the prosecutor must release his client, as he confirmed inconsistency in the complainant’s statements. He argued there were no injuries on the woman’s body to verify her case. He pleaded release for his client on bail, assuring that the man would not evade justice since he’s a Kuwaiti who can’t escape from the country.

TV fined: Attorney Abdul-mohsen Al-Ateeqi said the Appeals Court fined the Scope TV channel KD 5,000, besides a temporary compensation of KD 5,001 in the case filed against the channel for abusing the undersecretary of information Sheikh Faisal Al-Malik.
Earlier, Sheikh Faisal accused former MP Talal Al-Saeedi of abuse during a program on Scope TV.
