Premier forms mini-Cabinet to follow up on development plan Union celebrates approval of oil workers’ rights

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has formed a mini-Cabinet, which meets every week to follow up the implementation of the development plan, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting Oil Minister and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Dr Mohammad Al-Busairi.


Al-Busairi made the announcement at the gathering organized Monday by the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry Union at the Hilton Hotel in Mangaf to celebrate the approval of the workers’ rights. He affirmed Kuwait is working towards the implementation of multi-billion projects, including the establishment of a refinery and production of environment-friendly fuel. He admitted the projects faced a number of hurdles during the first year.


After thanking the union and its leaders for the efforts they exerted in defending the rights of the workers, Al-Busairi expressed regret for the accident that occurred the previous day and sympathized with the families of the victims. He pointed out the sector is sensitive and it is exposed to a lot of risks; hence, the importance of the strict implementation of safety guidelines.


Meanwhile, Chairperson of the union Abdulaziz Al-Sharthan thanked the oil sector workers for supporting the union in pushing for the approval of their salary increment. He said those who closely monitor developments in the Gulf region will definitely think the sector is on the verge of collapse; but through the efforts of his colleagues and the minister, the sector will rise again and everything will fall into place.
