12 Asian expats held for overstaying in Capital raid
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: Security operatives from the Capital governorate arrested 12 Asian expatriates for overstay during a recent campaign in different areas of the city.
The culprits were referred to the concerned.
Sources say the campaign will continue over an indeterminate period to arrest all residency law violators.
Man held drunk: Securitymen arre-sted a GCC national for consuming alcohol. While patrolling along King Fahad Motorway, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they signaled for the driver to pull over. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officers noticed the agitated look of the driver — a GCC national. When they asked him to present his identification documents, they realized he was under the influence of alcohol. A case was registered and the GCC national was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Car broken into: Police are looking for a thief who broke the window pane of a Kuwaiti man’s vehicle and stole KD 500. Fingerprints were lifted from the vehicle and investigations are going on.
‘Stuntmen’ nabbed: Securitymen arrested three motorists for performing stunts with their vehicles and endangering the lives of other road users in Naim and Qaser areas. The stunt performance was taking place early in the morning, said sources, adding securitymen seized the vehicles of the reckless motorists and referred the men to authorities.
Boy faints in fight: An Asian juvenile became unconscious as he fought with a compatriot inside a cooperative society in Mishref area.
He was referred to the Mubarak Hospital by paramedics, and a case was registered. Sources said the other fighter fled the scene after the incident.
