Asian gang held for forging passports, selling each for KD 300 Blank official papers, 13 computers seized
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police arrested a gang of six Asians, including a woman, for forging passports and selling them to their compatriots for KD 300 each, reports Al-Rai daily.
The arrest came when police took into custody an Asian man in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh on suspicion of forging the renewal date on the passport.
During interrogation the man said his ‘friend’ had renewed the passport on his behalf and guided police to an Asian who owned a computer repair shop in Hawalli. During interrogation the latter admitted to the charge and led police to the other members of the gang.
Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, police raided an apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and arrested the five people and confiscated from them 13 computers and blank official documents.
All those arrested have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
In another development, police are looking for an unidentified burglar who allegedly broke into the home of an Egyptian in Hawalli and stole KD 694 in cash, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to a security source the thief entered the home using a duplicate key.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
