Manhunt launched for gangs selling ‘lotteries’ to Asians
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: Police are looking for unidentified persons for selling lotteries to Asians, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the information received by the Criminal Investigation Department the salesmen claim to work for a company in Kuwait. The cost of each lottery is believed to be KD 1, KD 2 and KD 3 and the prizes are KD 300, KD 600 and 1,000.
It has been reported the draw is conducted in an unidentified Middle East country.
Woman dead: The remains of an unidentified 21-year-old Kuwaiti woman who reportedly died allegedly hitting her head a hard object inside her home have been referred to Forensics to identify the cause of death, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added the victim was rushed to the Al-Qurain polyclinic. She was unconscious and when doctors at the polyclinic discovered she was already dead, they informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
During interrogation the husband was quoted as saying his wife was suffering from psychological problems.
He also said she fell on the floor and hit her head on the ground.
Absconder held: Police have arrested an unidentified person who was wanted by law for failing to pay KD 17,000 debt, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the suspect was arrested at an unidentified location. He was initially arrested for violating a traffic law - driving a Jeep with tinted glasses.
When police checked his name they discovered he had been sentenced in absentia. He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Safe, cash stolen: Police are looking for unidentified burglars who allegedly broke into the home of a Kuwaiti man in Keifan and stole the safe from the bedroom containing KD 10,000 in cash, jewelry and two passports belonging to his wife and his housemaid, reports Al-Rai daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
