All involved to be held accountable ‘Multi-million dinar deposit scam’
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: People who are involved in the so-called ‘deposits of millions of dinars’ will be held accountable, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting a government source.
The same source said all people will be punished for their crime according to the law irrespective of their position in society. The sources say, the government silence should be looked as weakness rather the government does not want to interfere in the work of the judiciary which is known for its impartiality.
Meanwhile, the sources also said the government does not prevent people from ‘gathering’ in streets but at the same time said such activities are not desirable at the moment in view of the prevailing conditions in the region.
The sources added that government does not prevent the organization of seminars but street marches are strictly forbidden by the law.
The sources stressed the government fully believes in the freedom of opinion and expression in the true spirit of the word and a testimony of this is the government has not filed a single lawsuit against demonstrators who have ‘spoken against’ or even insulted His Highness the Prime Minister and the ministers. As an example the sources cited the tearing of the photos of ministers during a demonstration last June.
