KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: An Asian expatriate was arrested in Rumaithiya by anti narcotics officers with a quarter kilogram of heroin and 50 narcotic pills in his possession, based on directives from the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs in Ministry of Interior Major General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah.
This followed a tip-off the Operations Unit received that the suspect trafficked and consumed illicit drugs. Armed with a warrant from the Public Prosecution, security officers raided his apartment and found the contraband. He is said to have tried to escape but securitymen outsmarted him.
In a similar incident, officers from the anti-narcotics unit apprehended an Asian working as taxi driver with 1.2 kilograms of hashish in Fahaheel after undercover agents lured him into selling an unspecified quantity of the contraband. He led police to his room in the same area, where an additional 100 grams of heroin concealed in a milk can was found. Later, officers recovered another kilogram of the drug and a scale from a room in Farwaniya. He was referred for further investigation.

Kuwaiti woman escapes kidnap bid: Police are looking for an unidentified person who allegedly attempted to kidnap a Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Rai daily.
The woman said while she was driving along King Fahad Expressway, a motorist driving a Mercedes car asked her to stop by gesturing that one of her car tyres is flat. The woman stopped and stepped out, but was shocked when the man snatched her cell phone and attempted to bundle her into his car. She said the intervention of another motorist saved her and forced the suspect to speed up.  The woman provided the plate number of the culprit’s vehicle to police.

Woman beaten: An un-identified Kuwaiti woman has lodged a complaint, accusing her husband of breaking into her apartment in Rumaithiya and assaulting her, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said the husband went berserk on realizing that his wife abandoned him and had filed for divorce.
The wife submitted a medical report to substantiate her claims, the source said, adding police will summon the husband for interrogation.

2 hurt in fight: Police ar-rested four youngsters for fighting in a commercial complex in Salmiya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said a fight broke out among six youngsters who used sharp objects and chairs and tables of a fast food restaurant to get even with one another. Two of them had to be admitted to hospital with serious injuries, while the other four were referred to police station, he added.

Maid steals cash: Police are looking for an Asian housemaid who allegedly stole KD 1,500 from her sponsor’s house in Adan before escaping, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
